
Healing for Healers is a process of lifestyle management developed by a physician for physicians.
As you my colleagues know, the practice of medicine can be hazardous to your health, to significant others, to your children, friends and others important to you. However, the focus and process of healing yourself is the most important step you'll take in healing your relationships with others and with your practice of medicine.

- More than 58% of physicians report high scores on emotional exhaustion
- Two thirds of physicians studied have a workload they consider too heavy
- More than half of these physicians stated their family and personal lives suffered because thy chose medicine as a career
- Burnout is a recognized syndrome identified particularly in physicians as they are constantly under pressure
- Emotional exhaustion, cynicism, and perceived clinical ineffectiveness, and a sense of depersonalization in relationships are symptoms of burnout. Impaired job performance and poor health, headaches, sleep disturbances, irritability, marital difficulties, fatigue, hypertension, anxiety, depression, myocardial infarction are associated with burnout.

- In this country 31% would choose a different profession if they could start over
- Physicians suffering emotional exhaustion are sued more often.
